Maudie Atkinson House on Flames
Maudie Atkinson's --owner of the house-- her house has house he blue walls that you can see from across the street and the beautiful garden that she takes care of every single day. Her house got on fire, and burned. Her flower are mighty wonderful, and a blessing in disguise. This time they weren't mighty beautiful, the flames burned every flower. The house got on fire, because she had been baking some cakes for her friends that evening.
Miss Stephanie Crawford--neighbor and friend of Miss Maudie-- "I saw the flames go as high as a kite, I thought Miss Maudie would start crying, but instead I got scared for her. From the bottom of my heart I hope she gets her things back, because I helped her get inside and bring her furniture outside, it was mighty hot instead, I thought I would roast inside that house!
Miss Maudie Atkinson--owner of the house-- "Oh it was nothing so impressing! Though I don't know how it got on fire, but it did! Anyways I was going to rebuilt, it was awfully to small for my flowers to fit, but at least I have my furniture." "I hope no one didn't intentionally, I'm grateful to the lord for my neighbors, without them I wouldn't have done a thing, Oh my flowers, they're dead now, they don't look beautiful anymore."

Tom's Trial
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Editor,
Thomas Robinson, a black young man, killed on a Saturday morning in an attempt to escape prison. A bloody and horrific death, imprisoned unfairly, because a young girl who offered herself to a nigger. The calamity of this situation makes me sad, because this young man, of only 25 years old, was killed. Shot to death with seventeen bullets, all by two racist jail guards. They didn't have to shot him like that, even though he was escaping he didn't have to die like that. I suspect Tom wanted to die instead of being lynched in front of every injustice person here in Macomb county.
How could he have been kill with 17 bullets, they could have just shot him twice, and he was dead. He was an unlucky fellow, because he was black it was even worst. Folks in this town are full of pride, and emotion that they think they are better than anyone, that's not the way things should be. Just the blacks are black doesn't mean they are different then white people, its just the color. That's what folks here don't see! Their brains are as small as a watermelon seed!
I believe its unfair how the jury and even the audience believe Mayella, when she sat on that stand and said her first sentence, I knew she was lying. For me everything she said was a lie, but as we all saw the jury gave her the win, and convicted Tom. Maycomb is filled with bigotry, and discrimination, I don't understand how Black people get to feel free for once without being discriminated.
Maycomb's Daily,
I've been reading Maycomb's Daily Newspaper since I'm young, and I've really liked it. It's an spectacular way of entertainment, I love all of your sections! You have great facts, prefer reading this, than listening to the rumors that go around town. I admire how it gives insight to everything that's going on without focusing on the rumors we've been listening to.
I enjoy reading the articles, and getting to feel the presence and enjoying the tone of the journalist. I hope that you continue writing about everything that happens around here, I know its hard to give so much details to the pubic, but that's what I like about this newspaper. It gives so much confidence to the reader that it makes me want to read even more.
